Building Memories
Conceived, organized and produced by the multidisciplinary collective Cinema Urbana, the second edition of the Brasília Architecture Film Festival highlighted the debate on conservation of urban heritage and its relationship with built narratives of contemporary society under the motto "Building Memories". Starting from this concept, we had the challenge to design the festival's brand identity and collateral.

Concept
The visual concept recovers the memory of Brasília with photographs of the construction and early years of the city selected from the state's Public Archive. The pictures interact with modular forms that, at the same time, hide and show their message, self-replicating in different compositions analogous to the constant movement of the city. This visual dynamics explore the idea of occupying spaces and building meanings from the local urban heritage, reinforced by typical elements of the local modernist visual repertoire, such as Helvetica typeface and the brown colour, present in the iconic urban wayfinding system.

The event
The event was held between 8 and 12 October 2019 in several venues on the Southern Commercial Sector, central area of Brasília, and featured lectures, installations, panels, workshops and presentations of academic papers, as well as the movie sessions of the festival.
