Brazilian Piano Institute
Founded in 2015 by pianist and researcher Alexandre Dias, the IPB is a non-profit organisation, recognised internationally, that develops an amazing work of rescue, dissemination and appreciation of the Brazilian piano culture. Since 2016, we have worked together with the institute team, designing its brand identity and supporting its various promotional initiatives.
Concept
The visual identity is inspired by the interaction between the sinuous curves and the striking straights of the piano shape. The symbol works as a visual synthesis of a grand piano formed by overlayed letters of the acronym IPB. When isolated, they make the brand's graphic universe, defining spaces and opening possibilities of use, either as filled shapes or in contour lines. The colour palette extracted from the institutional tones of the Brazilian flag and the combination of typefaces reinforce the institutional mood of the identity.
Concert Series
In 2019, the IPB produced in Brasília a series of concerts with three great current Brazilian pianists: Nelson Freire, Christian Budu and Fabio Martino. The collateral explores the versatility of the institute's visual identity.
