Brazilian Piano Institute
Founded in 2015 by pianist and researcher Alexandre Dias, the IPB is a not-for-profit organisation, that develops an internationally recognised work of rescue, dissemination and appreciation of the Brazilian piano culture. For 5 years, Estúdio Marujo worked closely to IPB team, designing its brand identity and providing visual communication support for its various initiatives.
Concept
The brand identity is inspired by the interaction between the sinuous curves and the striking lines of the grand piano. The logo is formed by overlayed IPB letters assembled to resemble a piano. The same shapes create the brand's graphic universe. The colour palette extracted from the institutional tones of the Brazilian flag and the combination of serif and sans-serif typefaces reinforce the institutional mood of the identity.
Concert Series
In 2019 IPB organised a series of three concerts with great contemporary Brazilian pianists: Nelson Freire, Christian Budu and Fabio Martino. Promotional material was designed to explore the versatility of the Institute's brand identity.
